Kmart-Style Subs (But Better)

Yeah, remember those cheap but weirdly addictive subs from Kmart? These are those — but homemade, way fresher, and still blessed with that nostalgic gas station sandwich vibe.

🧾 Ingredients

4 submarine rolls 8 slices salami 4 slices bologna (yes, we’re doing this) 4 slices honey ham 4 slices American cheese ¼ onion, thinly sliced 1 cup shredded lettuce 2 small tomatoes, thinly sliced ⅓ cup banana peppers 1 dill pickle, thinly sliced ¼ cup French’s yellow mustard (don’t get fancy here)

🧂 Instructions

Slice those sub rolls like you’re mad at them — but don’t cut all the way through. Layer salami, bologna, and honey ham like you’re building the sandwich of petty revenge. Throw on that American cheese. Not cheddar. Not gouda. We’re being authentic. Top it with onion, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, and pickle — in that order. Trust. Drizzle French’s mustard like you just ran out of patience. Wrap the whole thing tight in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This ain’t optional. The cold soak is what makes it hit.

Serves: 4 people or just you hiding from everyone’s opinions.
