Italian Deli Flatbreads

If you’ve ever wanted to bring the flavors of an Italian deli straight to your dinner table — this is it. These flatbreads are crispy, cheesy, and layered with meats, peppers, fresh basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The best part? They take minutes to throw together but look (and taste) like you ordered them from a restaurant.

Perfect for family dinner, game night, or when you just want to eat something that makes you way too happy.

Ingredients

8 mini naan breads (or flatbreads of choice) 1 lb hot Italian sausage, cooked extra crispy 1 package sliced pepperoni 1 package sliced salami 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 1–2 fresh mozzarella balls, sliced (optional for extra melty cheese pulls) 1–2 banana peppers or pepper rings Fresh basil, sliced thin Olive oil Balsamic glaze (for drizzling) Italian seasoning (I used Zarlengo’s)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Crisp the sausage. In a skillet, cook hot Italian sausage until browned and crispy — don’t skip this step, it makes the whole dish. Build the base. Lay out naan breads on the sheet pan. Brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Layer it up. Add shredded mozzarella, followed by sausage, salami, pepperoni, and banana peppers. If you’re using fresh mozzarella slices, tuck them in too. Bake. Place in the oven for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melty and edges are golden brown. Finish strong. Remove from oven and top with fresh basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze right before serving.

Tips

Crisping the sausage extra well is non-negotiable — it adds that deli-style bite. You can swap in prosciutto, capicola, or any deli meat you love. Serve these cut into wedges for a party appetizer, or keep them whole for an easy weeknight dinner.
